In this figure, the update record is shown to contain an update header (a ttXlaUpdateDesc_t instance), the row Tuple1, and the row Tuple2. Tuple1 and Tuple2 are identified as "row data". A pointer indicates the address of Tuple1 at the beginning of that row; another pointer indicates the address of Tuple2 at the beginning of that row (UPDATETTUP only).

Beneath the depiction of the update record, a series of eight transaction log records is depicted. The second of these records is identified as the first transaction update record. The third is shown to be the update record that is displayed. The seventh is identified as the transaction commit record.
