This illustration shows the following three redo logs in the form of arrows with the SCN value increasing. The redo logs have SCN values on them to illustrate the following examples:

Example 1: First SCN of existing capture process is 10000. Start SCN of new capture process is 70000. Maximum checkpoint SCN of existing capture process is 90000.
Example 2: Maximum checkpoint SCN of existing capture process is 70000. Start SCN of new capture process is 90000.
Example 3: Maximum checkpoint SCN of existing capture process is 10000. Start SCN of new capture process is 3000000.

For example 1 and example 2, the new capture process should share the LogMiner data dictionary of an existing capture process. For example 3, the new capture process should create a LogMiner data dictionary.
